The University of Duhok has received over 1000 Refugees & IDPs Bachelor students since ISIS breakthrough in some city of Syria and Iraq. The UoD enrolled them in different Colleges and Departments.

It is part of our academic and humanitarian commitment to support the Refugees & IDPs students academically to pass through their difficult time. The involvement of the different International organization and the international community to the people who are directly affected by all the turmoil in the region has made a difference in their life and their living quality, and this in turn made the student’s life easier.

The UNIMED project helped the UoD to initiate the R-SOS unit which has a great effect on the Refugees & IDPs. The R-SOS is the place where they start their academic journey away from their home country. In the R-SOS unit they find guidance, advice and help from the well trained staff. We expect the R-SOS office to be focal point of the Refugees & IDPs at Duhok Governorate as well as the regular students for different academic information.
